Based in Broken Bow, OK, Broken Bow School of Dance provides children and adults with the opportunity to transform and immerse themselves in the art of dance. We proudly serve individuals throughout the tri-state region of Southeast Oklahoma, Southwest Arkansas, and Northeast Texas.
Our dance studio takes great pride in maintaining high standards regarding age-appropriate music, costuming, and choreography suitable for all audiences.

At Broken Bow School of Dance, we teach a wide variety of dance genres. Our goal is to provide students a quality dance education as well as a second home environment. We encourage each student to reach their full potential–not only in their love of dance, but for life skills that will be with them for years to come. Although we are a recital-based studio, we have received recognition and awards through the years by being selected to perform and by competing in local talent shows and festivals.
Some of our highlights include:
- Performing the Nutcracker Ballet with a Russian Traveling Troupe in conjunction with the Idabel Arts & Humanities Council
- Competing in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Competition, receiving top awards
- Competing in the Talent On Parade Competition, receiving top awards
- Competing in the Owa-Chito Talent Competition, receiving top awards and performing before the headline entertainment for many years
- Competing and receiving Grand Prize awards in our local Christmas parades

Meet Our Founder
Ms. Carolyn
Ms. Carolyn is a former Miss Broken Bow (1978) and Miss McCurtain county (1980). She began teaching baton twirling in 1978 and founded the Stepping Stars baton corps and drill team. In 1980, the Broken Bow School of Dance was officially established.
Ms. Carolyn founded the Miss Owa-Chito Pageant in 2000. Dance and pageants are her life, and she loves every minute of sharing them with several thousands of girls in this area over the past 43 years.
She is a former Mary Kay consultant, attaining team leader status. Ms. Carolyn raised two fine young gentlemen. She currently has a granddaughter, grandson, a grand-goddaughter, and Bella Donna, her beautiful boxer. She owns a condo in Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands managed by Evolve Vacation Rental and is currently developing property east of Broken Bow.
